I am a triathlete recently turned cyclist from Dunedin in the South Island of New Zealand. I have a huge passion for sport and the outdoors. From a young age, I participated in the top level of swimming in New Zealand and Australia as well as doing some athletics and cross country on the side. When I was 16 I made the switch to triathlon and as soon as I got on the bike I absolutely loved it.
After a tough few years with various injuries, I decided to focus primarily on my cycling because it was my favourite of the 3 disciplines it was much more sustainable for my body and health in the long run. I love every moment spent on the bike whether it be from racing to exploring new terrain.
Outside of cycling, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, walking my dogs at the beach, hiking, and travelling. I am also studying towards a double major in sport and exercise science and psychology with a minor in human nutrition at the University of Otago. I have just completed my first year of study.
My current goals in cycling are to learn how to move around the bunch comfortably. As well as this I want to gain more experience both in New Zealand and overseas to help me improve my skillset and learn and grow as a cyclist.
My long term goals would be to race at the top level of cycling for a UCI women’s world tour team. I want to race in some of the most challenging races and tours such as the Giro Rosa and ultimately to represent New Zealand at the world championships.
